Corn Machinery Division Welding Smoke Extraction and Dust Removal Project
This project has several welding stations in the workshop, and the welded workpieces are quite large. The workshop currently doesn't have any smoke or dust collection system, so an overall management solution is urgently needed.

This case involves a relatively large welding workpiece. After an on-site survey, it was recommended to semi-enclose the entire welding area and use high negative pressure through external ducting to keep the whole welding zone under negative pressure. Welding fumes are collected and treated before being discharged. A top-suction dust hood is used for fume collection, equipped with a Meilan 160KW dust collector with an air volume of 120,000 m³/h, handling a total of 21 workstations.

Using a top-suction dust hood system:
The top-suction dust hood system installs a dust hood above the welding station, combined with arc-proof curtains around it to create a semi-enclosed space, effectively capturing smoke and harmful gases produced during welding. The hood directly covers the welding equipment and workpiece area, and channels the smoke through pipes to purification equipment for filtering.
It features intelligent zone control, automatically starting or stopping equipment based on the actual work conditions in each welding area, or adjusting the airflow with a variable frequency to save energy while ensuring effective dust removal. The hood is also equipped with lights inside for workers’ visibility, each with its own switch.
It’s especially suitable for dust control in fixed welding stations, including welding robot workstations, automated welding equipment, fixed manual welding areas, and large workpiece welding scenarios.

Dust Collector Automatic Fire Suppression System:
Installing a dedicated fire suppression system on dust collection equipment is a key part of protecting against dust explosions. Using an automatic system, the device can release the fire suppression mechanism once the equipment reaches a certain temperature. Combined with duct explosion suppression devices, it creates a multi-level protection chain and achieves multi-parameter interlocking for precise spatial protection.
