The dust removal project of a certain steel pipe company has been completed
Project Features: Designed to remove and purify smoke and dust generated from different workshop tasks such as milling, plasma cutting, gantry submerged arc welding, and butt welding.
For the milling station dust purification: one 7.5KW main dust collector and two electric rotating dust hoods. The dust hoods can rotate about 180° for easy replacement of milling cutters, and the rotating mechanism is equipped with limit switches, making it easier to operate.
Plasma cutting fume purification: use a wet dust collector and connect a hose to collect the fumes.
This workstation is for: gantry submerged arc welding. The dust collector main unit is placed above the gantry, with its height lower than the bottom of the crane cabin, so it doesn’t interfere with crane lifting operations. A dust collection hood is designed at the welding gun tip, connected to the dust collector via a flexible hose. The hose is fixed on the robotic arm and moves along with it. Its length meets the welding requirements for the smallest diameter steel pipe (φ700mm). It is fixed using accessories from the industrial robot’s cable package, and a spring balancer is used according to the on-site setup to ensure that the corrugated hose doesn’t rest on the welded steel pipe surface due to changes in pipe diameter.
The dust collector main unit uses an independent electric control box, allowing the equipment to be started or stopped from under the gantry. The main unit works in sync with the submerged arc welder, matching the dust collector’s operation to the welder’s working status.
