Precautions for Design of Fume Collection Hood

When designing the gas collecting hood of the Dust Collector, we must pay attention to the following points:

1. The fume collection hood of the dust collector shall surround the dust source as much as possible and be as close to the pollution source as possible to limit the diffusion of pollutants to the minimum range and prevent or reduce the interference of transverse air flow. Under the condition of ensuring pollution control, the opening area of the fume collection hood shall be reduced as far as possible to minimize its gas collection.

2. The suction direction of the fume collection hood of the dust collector shall be consistent with the movement direction of the dust producing source air flow as far as possible, and make full use of the kinetic energy of the polluted air flow.

3. The axis of the external fume collection hood of the dust collector shall coincide with the axis of pollutant emission. The maximum ratio of the area of the hood to the sectional area of the air duct is 16:1. The length of the horn hood should be 2-3 times the diameter of the air duct to ensure uniform wind speed at the hood. If uniform gas collection cannot be achieved, multiple gas collection ports can be set or partition plates, baffles, etc. can be set in the gas collection hood.

4. The suction air flow of the dust collector fume collection hood is not allowed to pass through the worker's breathing area before entering the hood. There should be no obstacles in the flow of air flow. The structure of gas collecting hood shall not hinder workers' operation and equipment maintenance.

5. The air suction point should not be located in the material concentration place and splash area to avoid sucking a large amount of materials into the purification system. When handling hot materials, the air suction point should be set at the top of the cover, and the volume of the cover should be appropriately increased.
