Hazards of Welding Fume

The welding process generates fumes and releases a variety of harmful substances and particles. These hazardous substances include hexavalent chromium, manganese, nickel and lead. Particle size (0.01-1um) affects the toxicity of smoke, and smaller particles are more dangerous because smaller particles are more likely to be inhaled deep into the lungs.
